M.Churlionis created his own fairy-tale world which appeared in a shining space environment. This shine became a veil to him, a kind of defence and only a very experienced eye being able to penetrate through this veil could understand the artist. Sometimes the painter had a desire to call his works „tales”. Though all his creation can be called a wonderful tale, because a tale is always a sacred reality and people have not sufficient it. A tale is a kind of reproduction and only an artist with tempestuous imagination can master it. The album is a „kings’ tale” because each of us is a King to himself and any picture he can change in such way as his Magesty likes. M.Churlionis created his works in the edge of epochs when peoples’ minds were occupied with thoughts and dreams about the Creation and secret forces of environment. Light tragedy and Pushkin’s „light sorrow” pierce through his paintings which are situated somewhere between joy and grief like a bridge between despair and hope.
